Matthew is the Just Energy Transition (JET) research manager at Krutham. Matthew holds an MBA (UCT) and BA Honours (UKZN) and is a sustainability expert, published author and journalist.
The latter part of his 10-year journalism career focused on business and finance, where he was a senior content producer and deputy editor at Fin24 (now News24 Business). Focus areas included South Africa’s political economy, energy reform and the renewable energy sector. Following his MBA, Matthew transitioned to sustainability management consulting and annual reporting.
He was appointed as Trialogue’s head of ESG (environmental, social and governance) and integrated thinking, where he focused on embedding sustainability best practices into organisations, providing integrated reporting solutions to reflect annual improvements in their sustainability progress.
