Cecilia is a senior researcher at Krutham’s social economy and strategy research business unit. Her expertise lies in development finance and she is interested in sustainable infrastructure investments. She holds a PhD in Political Studies at the University of the Witwatersrand, researching the political economy of sovereign credit ratings in emerging markets.
Before joining Krutham Cecilia held a postdoctoral position with the SA-UK Bilateral Chair in Political Theory, hosted by Wits University. During this tenure she focused on affordable housing finance, urban transformation and the politics of consumer credit reports. She has extensive qualitative research experience and has worked at an NGO that focuses on social protection policymaking, early childhood development and food security.
Cecilia holds a BA in Communication Studies, BA (Honours) (Political Studies) and an MA (Political Studies) from the North-West University.
