Sandra Ngwena joins Intellidex as head of philanthropy

Johannesburg – Intellidex has appointed Sandra Vimbai Ngwena as manager of its philanthropy practice.

Sandra will be based in South Africa, operating from the Intellidex Sandton offices. Sandra is the first manager of a dedicated philanthropy practice at Intellidex. It will consolidate Intellidex’s existing work in the philanthropy sector, including research projects and advisory work with foundations.

“Intellidex has undertaken several projects in the philanthropy sector and it makes sense to consolidate our activities,” says Intellidex chairman Dr Stuart Theobald. “Sandra brings a wealth of experience as we extend our research and advisory work in the space, particularly around the asset management strategies of foundations.”

She joins Intellidex with more than 16 years of experience in the development, not-for-profit and philanthropy sectors. She served as director of operations for one of South Africa’s largest private foundations, overseeing a R150m budget. She has also worked on communications strategies in the development sector across more than 30 countries. Sandra is an experienced specialist in the design, implemention and management of operational processes.

With her broad experience in the philanthropy sector, having consulted on projects in South Africa, the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada, she will be a valuable asset to the Intellidex team. Her work will include designs and evaluation of grantmaking and bespoke philanthropic and trust services for corporate and non-profit clients.
