Managing Director at Intellidex Dr Graunt Kruger joins NewzRoom Afrika’s Hugo Ribatika to discuss the launch of the inaugural Africa Impact Investment Awards. These awards will shine a spotlight on excellence in impact investments in Africa. The project is being conducted in partnership with the African Venture Philanthropy Alliance, ANDE West Africa, Impact Investing Ghana, Impact Investing South Africa and the national advisory boards for impacting investing of both Nigeria and Zambia, and the Southern African Venture Capital and Private Equity Association.
“The Impact Investment Awards really brings together two of our very big areas of focus of the work that we do, which is both working at the finance level and at the social development level. Impact investing is a new frontier of how we’re thinking about bringing about fundamental changes to our society, meeting huge needs whether it is social or environmental needs on the continent. The impact investing fraternity has been working really hard already to find innovative ways of solving problems and we thought it was time to recognise all of that work and celebrate early successes but also use this as an opportunity to point the direction of the future”, says Dr Kruger.
